His accomplishments include ribbons and awards for carvings of waterfowl, songbirds, raptors, seabirds, upland game and mammals. His work can be found in many private collections around the world. Garry was the Ducks Unlimited 1998 Wildlife Sculptor artist of the year in Saskatchewan. His winning carving of a Ruddy Duck was cast by Ducks Unlimited, and presented to their supporters
Garry teaches his carving skills on a regular basis. He has taught at Kenderdme Campus, a program through the extension division of the University of Saskatchewan, and Woodland Institute. He is also a member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association, and keeps in touch with artists and carvers across North America. He accepts commissions on selected works.
